Basic Usage Guide
- Park both vehicles safely and switch off their engines.
- Engage the parking brakes and keep the vehicles from moving.
- Switch off lights, audio systems, air conditioning and other electrical accessories.
- Check that both batteries have the same compatible voltage.
- Identify the positive and negative battery terminals.
- Connect the red positive clamp to the positive terminal of the discharged battery.
- Connect the other red positive clamp to the positive terminal of the donor battery.
- Connect the black negative clamp to the negative terminal of the donor battery.
- Connect the remaining black clamp to a suitable unpainted metal grounding point on the vehicle with the discharged battery, if instructed by the vehicle manufacturer.
- Start the donor vehicle and allow it to run briefly.
- Try to start the vehicle with the discharged battery.
- Once started, disconnect the cables in the reverse order.
- Keep the clamps separated and prevent them from touching each other.
Always follow the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended jump-start procedure. Some modern vehicles require a specific connection point rather than direct battery-terminal connection.
